STRATEGIES ON FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be determined by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to reflect your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Ridgewood LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs grow memorable brand identities. We’ve undertaken brand identity design work for builders, universities, diamond miners, party planners, restaurants, retailers, and just about every other kind of business you can envision. What makes ImageCo different compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach ensures that our logos are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might have encountered in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are retained to perform, we do in-house. Irrespective of the kind of project we take on, brand identity design, website, trade show banners, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm out our customer’s work to companies located outside the US. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the price of your project and determines the terms of how we do business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Ridgewood organization knows they need a logo, however few start-ups fully realize the pivotal role their logo design will perform in their success, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and lasting effect on the financial success of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Ridgewood businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of noting something so that it can be distinguished, its foundation originates from the brand branded onto animals. Today a brand represents practically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive sister, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s goal is to develop an image that the target market can relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody states the names Ferrari or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why people acquire most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of the majority of branding firms you’ll discover that they are often rebranded marketing firms. When a person says they are in advertising and marketing most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps form the public image of a firm, a product or a business. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and also collateral products such as cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some visual designers also develop web sites as well as software interfaces. The essential role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of influencing activities, outcomes and perceptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Ridgewood coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older part of town and really wanted to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by creating a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Ridgewood clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog developed for a household fun center in Ridgewood.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Ridgewood travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ridgewood logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Ridgewood logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective assessments on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s portion of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Ridgewood publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many instances one of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Ridgewood logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Ridgewood, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Ridgewood hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which conveyed a spirit of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design developed for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind logo design styled to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With a different head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Ridgewood Coffee shop logo layout a tiny dining establishment, design includes a modified script font which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little dining establishment, design consists of a modified manuscript font style which floats over a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software designer the style attributes as well as iconic Ridgewood element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Develop logo layout produced for a Ridgewoodindoor developer, layout function a series of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Ridgewood interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who arranges, explores, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Ridgewood, the characters for letter V and also A in middle of words progressed have been modified to tie straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Ridgewood logo design assignment was carried out for a leadership coach that assists business leaders to become more efficient at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Ridgewood business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Ridgewood logo design using an image which pulls in the attention of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Ridgewood company logo layout has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really designed for an Ridgewood regional farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to develop a brand mark that projected assurance, financial success, and prosperity.

Ridgewood Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a renowned Ridgewood sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to design a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
