TIPS FOR DETERMINING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t refund the amount of time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but in the end a design firm can only be determined by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t contain real life examples odds are they will never be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s purpose is to reflect your personal vision for your company. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Roselle LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs cultivate memorable brands. We have done brand design work for builders, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, bistros, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as though it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first approach our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method insures that our logo designs are just as effective whether they are used in TV commercials or web applications, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered no matter of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you may have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are enlisted to do, we do ourselves. Regardless of the type of design project we accept, logo design, website, trade show banners, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s projects to contractors located outside the United States. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the cost of your design project and determines the terms of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Every new Roselle organization realizes that they probably need a logo, but few start-ups thoroughly grasp the key role their business logo can make in their financial success, or the reason that one logo performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting effect on the success of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Roselle companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of denoting something to make sure that it can be identified, its foundation originates from the brand branded onto animals. Today a brand indicates basically anything with a motive, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are both from the exact same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest targeted at a target market, it’s goal is to develop an image that the target market will likely relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody states the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why people acquire specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding companies you’ll find that they are quite often re-branded marketing agencies. When a person says they are in advertising lots of people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a type of visual design that helps shape the image of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some visual designers also build sites and software interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, end results and understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Roselle coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an old part of the community and wanted to visualize a nostalgic vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by creating a symbol concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Roselle clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Roselle.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Roselle travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Roselle logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Roselle logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo understand how essential a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Roselle book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is often the very first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Roselle logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Instance features an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Roselle, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a Roselle hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that related a sense of serenity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo design produced for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a unique company logo design styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With an unique head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately identifiable horse breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Roselle Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, layout includes a changed script typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a little dining establishment, design includes a changed script typeface which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the design features and also renowned Roselle aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Progress logo layout produced for a Roselleinterior designer, layout feature a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Roselle interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who arranges, researches, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, site evaluations, programming, investigation, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Roselle, the characters for letter V and A in center of words advanced have been changed to connect straight right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Roselle logo design assignment was completed for a management advisor that helps business professionals to develop into more effective at managing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Roselle business logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Roselle logo design design using an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Roselle company logo style has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually composed for an Roselle regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this brand was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to develop a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and wealth.

Roselle Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for externally dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design designed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known Roselle sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
