Somerset Logo Design

Every new Somerset organization knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the key role their organization logo will make in their success, or exactly why one logo design works far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Somerset businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Somerset coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an older section of town and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by developing a trademark design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs created for Somerset clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a household fun center in Somerset.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Somerset traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Somerset logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Somerset logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s portion of obstacles, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Somerset publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is usually the first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the traits people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Somerset logo style utilized for advertising as well as a tag style for Vintage Case features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Somerset, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which carried a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little restaurant, design contains a changed manuscript font which floats above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the style attributes and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Somerset business logo dsign using a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Somerset regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to generate a brand mark that projected self-assurance, financial success, and opulence.
Logo created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
