Union City Logo Design

Nearly every new Union City venture knows they require a logo, however few new business owners fully recognize the key role their business logo will make in their success, or the reason that one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the financial success of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Union City businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Union City coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old section of the area and wanted to visualize a retro vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via creating a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Union City clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in Union City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Union City travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Union City logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Union City logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s share of challenges, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Union City publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was surely a success.

Union City logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Union City, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which carried an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo design for a software program programmer the style attributes and legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Union City business logo dsign along with a graphic which seizes the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Union City area farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a graphic that projected self-confidence, success, and luxury.
Logo developed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
