Union City, New Jersey Logo Design

Every new Union City business understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly understand the pivotal role their organization logo will make in their success, or the reason that one logo performs better than another. A company logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the success of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Union City, New Jersey businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Union City, New Jersey coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of town and really wanted to project a vintage feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by designing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for Union City, New Jersey medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog made for a household enjoyable center in Union City, New Jersey.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Union City, New Jersey traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Union City logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Union City logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of obstacles, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Union City, New Jersey book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a printed book because it is usually the first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many cases one of the items consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to confering a spirit of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Union City logo design utilized for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Union City, New Jersey, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which conveyed a spirit of serenity and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the attention on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software programmer the layout attributes and also iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Union City logo design dsign using an image which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really created for an Union City, New Jersey area farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this particular logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a graphic that projects self-confidence, success, and wealth.

Union City Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo developed for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
