Clovis Logo Design

Nearly every new Clovis venture realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely realize the essential role their logo will take in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions far better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting effect on the success of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Clovis businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Clovis coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older part of the area and really wanted to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs via creating a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Clovis medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in Clovis.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Clovis traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Clovis logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Clovis logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Clovis publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many cases one of the items people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Clovis logo style used for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Clovis, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects because it appears that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that communicated a feeling of ease and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo design for a software programmer the style attributes as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

logo design done for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V and A in center of words advanced have been modified to connect straight into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Clovis logo design job was undertaken for a leadership consultant that enables business leaders to develop into more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Clovis logo design dsign along with a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Clovis area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to produce a graphic that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo design designed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
