POINTERS ON SELECTING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be determined by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life samples chances are they will never be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Clovis LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs develop unforgettable brands. We’ve done logo design work for farmers, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, diners, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can envision. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method insures that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you may have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are enlisted to perform, we perform ourselves. Regardless of the kind of design project we undertake, logo design, website design, trade show banners, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will contract out our client’s projects to contractors based outside the US. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Clovis company understands that they require a logo, yet few start ups thoroughly grasp the crucial role their logo will make in their success, or precisely why one business logo functions far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term effect on the growth of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Clovis businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to store signs a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the act of noting something so that it could be recognized, its genesis originates from the mark burned onto animals. Today a brand symbolizes basically anything with a motive, whether it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are both from the very same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target audience, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the audience will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person mentions the brand names Lamborghini or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people buy those products. Brand image is why individuals buy most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of most branding firms you’ll find that they are often rebranded advertising firms. When a person states they are in marketing most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design that helps form the perception of a company, a product or a business. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some visual designers also develop sites as well as user interfaces. The vital role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, results and assumptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Clovis coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of the area and wanted to cast a vintage feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both tasks by developing a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Clovis medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Clovis.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Clovis travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Clovis logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Clovis logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Clovis publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a published book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Clovis logo style used for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Clovis, style include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a Clovis hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which carried a feeling of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout produced for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original business logo design styled to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a different head form and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable equine breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Clovis Coffee shop logo layout a small restaurant, design includes a modified script font style which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout contains a customized manuscript typeface which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software programmer the layout attributes as well as legendary Clovis component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo style created for a Clovisindoor designer, layout function a series of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Clovis interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, investigates, coordinates, and manages such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, location evaluations, programming, investigation, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Clovis, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been modified to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Clovis logo design job was done for a management expert that enables business leaders to become more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Clovis business logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Clovis logo design using a graphic which captures the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Clovis company logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Clovis area farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this brand was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design a graphic that projected esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.

Clovis Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a famous Clovis sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
