Farmington, New Mexico Logo Design

Nearly every new Farmington organization understands that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely understand the pivotal role their company logo will perform in their success, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining impact on the viability of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Farmington, New Mexico businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Farmington, New Mexico coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of the town and really wanted to cast a retro vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by means of designing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Farmington, New Mexico medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in Farmington, New Mexico.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Farmington, New Mexico travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Farmington logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Farmington logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased assessments on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Farmington, New Mexico publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many instances one of the items individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was surely a victory.

Farmington logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Farmington, New Mexico, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that conveyed a spirit of ease and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo style for a software developer the layout attributes as well as legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Farmington logo design dsign with a graphic that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

Farmington Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
