Farmington Logo Design

Nearly every new Farmington venture knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly realize the crucial role their organization logo will perform in their success, or why one business logo functions better than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the financial success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Farmington businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Farmington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of town and wished to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by developing a sign concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Farmington medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Farmington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Farmington travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Farmington logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Farmington logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Farmington publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a published book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Farmington logo style utilized for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Farmington, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that communicated a spirit of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application designer the layout features and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Farmington logo design dsign using an image that pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really composed for an Farmington area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to create a brand mark that projects self-assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo design created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
