Gallup, New Mexico Logo Design

Nearly every new Gallup venture understands that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners fully are aware of the key role their business logo will take in their financial success, or why one logo performs better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting effect on the financial success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Gallup, New Mexico businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Gallup, New Mexico coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an old part of the community and wished to project a retro vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both jobs by designing a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs created for Gallup, New Mexico clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a family fun center in Gallup, New Mexico.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Gallup, New Mexico travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Gallup logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Gallup logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of challenges, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Gallup, New Mexico book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many cases one of the things people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Gallup logo style utilized for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Gallup, New Mexico, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which carried a feeling of ease and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny restaurant, layout includes a customized script font style which floats over a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software program programmer the layout attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Gallup logo dsign utilizing an image which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really composed for an Gallup, New Mexico regional farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this trademark was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop a graphic that projected assurance, financial success, and luxury.

Gallup Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design created for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
