STRATEGIES FOR FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t reimburse the time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be evaluated from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real world examples chances are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Los Lunas LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs develop unforgettable brands. We’ve undertaken logo design work for farmers, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can envision. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as if it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered irrespective of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which truly sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might possibly have found on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are brought on board to do, we do ourselves. Regardless of the type of project we take on, brand identity design, business website, trade show exhibit, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s projects to companies located outside the United States. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how you and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Every new Los Lunas entrepreneur knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the vital role their organization’s logo can perform in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions better than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting impact on the viability of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Los Lunas companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need deliberation, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of denoting something to make sure that it can be identified, its foundation comes from the brand branded onto livestock. Today a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with a motive, whether it be profit or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a target audience, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the target market will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone mentions the brand names Porsche or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the beginning of a lot of branding agencies you’ll find that they are quite often re-branded advertising agencies. When a person states they are in advertising most people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a type of visual design that helps shape the public image of a firm, a product or a business. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some visual designers also design websites and also user interfaces. The crucial duty of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of affecting actions, end results and also understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Los Lunas coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old part of the area and really wanted to project a retro feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by designing a custom logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Los Lunas clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable center in Los Lunas.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Los Lunas traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Los Lunas logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Los Lunas logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo realize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Los Lunas book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many cases 1 of the things people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Los Lunas logo design used for advertising and also a label layout for Vintage Instance features an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Los Lunas, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a Los Lunas hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that related an atmosphere of simplicity and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design produced for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind creative logo concept tailored to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. With a different head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Los Lunas restaurant logo style a small dining establishment, design includes a customized script typeface which floats above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, design consists of a modified manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software program developer the style features and also renowned Los Lunas element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Evolve logo style created for a Los Lunasindoor developer, design attribute a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Los Lunas interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, programming, research study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Los Lunas, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of the word advanced have actually been modified to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Los Lunas logo design job was undertaken for a management specialist that enables business professionals to become more efficient at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A Los Lunas business logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Los Lunas logo design using an image which captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Los Lunas company logo design has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Los Lunas area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this company was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate a brand mark that projected self-confidence, success, and opulence.

Los Lunas Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for outwardly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known Los Lunas sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
