Rio Rancho, New Mexico Logo Design

Each and every new Rio Rancho business realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the vital role their logo will play in their success, or precisely why one business logo works far better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting influence on the prosperity of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Rio Rancho, New Mexico businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Rio Rancho, New Mexico coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older part of the community and hoped to cast a nostalgic tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of designing a company logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Rio Rancho, New Mexico medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a household enjoyable center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Rio Rancho, New Mexico travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rio Rancho logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Rio Rancho logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased opinions on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Rio Rancho, New Mexico publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book given that it is often the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Rio Rancho logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects because it seems that virtually every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which conveyed an atmosphere of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo layout created for a steed ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout attributes and also renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell off their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Rio Rancho business logo dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really composed for an Rio Rancho, New Mexico regional farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make a graphic that projects confidence, success, and luxury.

Rio Rancho Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout function for outwardly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to create a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
