Santa Fe Logo Design

Virtually every new Santa Fe organization realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the vital role their logo design can take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and long term effect on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Santa Fe companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Santa Fe coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an old part of the community and wished to cast a retro vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by creating a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Santa Fe medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable center in Santa Fe.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Santa Fe traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather project emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Santa Fe logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Santa Fe logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo realize how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s portion of challenges, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Santa Fe publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems that in many cases 1 of the items folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Santa Fe logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Santa Fe, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it appears that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which carried a spirit of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application programmer the style functions and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Santa Fe logo design dsign using an illustration that seizes the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really designed for an Santa Fe regional farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to create a graphic that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
