New York Logo Design

Virtually every new New York  business knows they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the key role their logo will make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term effect on the financial success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help New York businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a New York coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old section of the city and wished to visualize a vintage atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by means of designing a company logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for New York medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog designed for a family enjoyable center in New York.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for New York travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  New York  logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

New York logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for New York book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is often the very first thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

New York logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Case features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in New York, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it appears that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which conveyed a spirit of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, style includes a changed manuscript font which floats over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software designer the style features and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Evolve logo style developed for a New York interior developer, style attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their New York logo design design utilizing an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually developed for an New York  farm it was in reality devised for a products broker, and this company was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to develop a graphic that projects esteem, financial success, and affluence.

New York Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without recognizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design designed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
