POINTERS ON IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the amount of time you invest which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a design agency can only be determined by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t contain real life samples chances are they will not be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s goal is to reflect your unique vision for your company. If a logo designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Cypress Hills LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs establish notable brands. We have done logo design work for builders, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retailers, and practically every other kind of business you can think of. What makes ImageCo different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as if it will be used as an electric sign. Because of our sign first approach our brand identity designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered regardless of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

Something which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might have come across on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are brought on board to perform, we perform in-house. Regardless of the type of project we undertake, logo, website design, trade show banners, or electric sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s work to 3rd parties based outside the United States. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how you and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Cypress Hills entrepreneur realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully grasp the pivotal role their business logo can make in their success, or the reason that one business logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the growth of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Cypress Hills companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of noting something to make sure that it can be recognized, its foundation originates from the mark branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with a motive, whether it be profit or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the value of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are both from the very same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition aimed at a target market, it’s objective is to create an image that the target market will likely connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody states the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals buy those products. Brand image is why people buy most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the beginning of many branding agencies you’ll find that they are often rebranded advertising and marketing firms. When somebody says they are in advertising many people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that focuses on a kind of visual design which helps shape the perception of a company, a product or a business. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also brochures. Some visual designers also build web sites and user interfaces. The crucial function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and an emotional tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes as well as understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Cypress Hills coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old section of the community and wished to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs via designing a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs designed for Cypress Hills clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in Cypress Hills.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Cypress Hills travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cypress Hills logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Cypress Hills logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Cypress Hills publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most important part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many instances one of the traits people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Cypress Hills logo layout used for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Cypress Hills, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that almost every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a Cypress Hills hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that carried a sense of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo style produced for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original creative logo concept tailored to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. By having an unique head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most immediately identifiable horse types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Cypress Hills Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, design contains a customized script font which floats above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, layout includes a customized manuscript font which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software application programmer the design attributes and also legendary Cypress Hills element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Develop logo design produced for a Cypress Hillsindoor designer, design function a series of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Cypress Hills interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, researches, collaborates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, analysis, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Cypress Hills, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word advanced have actually been changed to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Cypress Hills logo design assignment was undertaken for a management coach that enables business professionals to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Cypress Hills business logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Cypress Hills logo design design along with an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Cypress Hills company logo design has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really created for an Cypress Hills regional farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to develop a brand mark that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Cypress Hills Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for ostensibly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a well-known Cypress Hills sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
