Depew Logo Design

Virtually every new Depew organization realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly understand the vital role their business logo will make in their becoming successful, or why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term impact on the financial success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Depew companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand contemplation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Depew coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older section of the area and wanted to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by means of developing a logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs made for Depew clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in Depew.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Depew traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Depew logo but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Depew logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of hurdles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Depew publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many cases one of the things consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Depew logo style used for marketing and a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an old font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Depew, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it seems that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which communicated a sense of ease and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo design for a software program programmer the style functions and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Depew logo design dsign along with an illustration which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Depew regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
