East Village Logo Design

Nearly every new East Village company understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the essential role their logo will make in their financial success, or why one business logo functions better than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting influence on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help East Village businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a East Village coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an older section of town and really wanted to cast a retro vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for East Village clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in East Village.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - created for East Village travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  East Village logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

East Village logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective opinions on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo understand how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for East Village publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the aspects individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

East Village logo style used for advertising and marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in East Village, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which communicated an atmosphere of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style created for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind business logo design customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. By having a different head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily identifiable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe logo design a little dining establishment, layout contains a changed manuscript typeface which floats over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the design functions and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their East Village logo design dsign along with an image that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really developed for an East Village area farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design a graphic that projects assurance, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
