Emerson Hill Logo Design

Every new Emerson Hill business knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the vital role their logo design can play in their financial success, or why one business logo works far better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term effect on the prosperity of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Emerson Hill companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Emerson Hill coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of the town and really wanted to project a nostalgic tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by means of designing a logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Emerson Hill clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable facility in Emerson Hill.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Emerson Hill travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Emerson Hill logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Emerson Hill logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of challenges, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Emerson Hill book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is often the primary thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many instances one of the traits individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Emerson Hill logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Emerson Hill, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that communicated a sense of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program designer the style attributes and legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Develop logo layout created for a Emerson Hill indoor developer, design attribute a series of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo style.

logo style provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of the word advanced have actually been changed to connect straight into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Emerson Hill logo design project was done for a management consultant that assists business professionals to develop into more successful at managing people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Emerson Hill logo design dsign with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Emerson Hill regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate a brand mark that projected assurance, financial success, and luxury.
Logo designed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is similar to a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
