POINTERS ON CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature actual examples odds are they won’t be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to echo your unique vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they can get paid.

Hauppauge LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs cultivate unforgettable brand identities. We have undertaken brand design work for farmers, colleges, diamond miners, wedding singers, cafes, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach ensures that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website headers, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you might have come across in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are contracted to perform, we perform in-house. No matter the type of design project we undertake, brand identity design, web site, trade show exhibit, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s projects to organizations based outside the USA. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the price of your project and dictates the conditions of how we conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Hauppauge entrepreneur realizes that they probably need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly understand the key role their company logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design functions far better than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining influence on the viability of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Hauppauge businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is both a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the act of noting something to ensure that it can be identified, its origin comes from the mark burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand indicates practically anything with an intention, regardless if it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are both from the exact same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a target market, it’s objective is to create an image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person states the names Ferrari or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals get most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of the majority of branding companies you’ll find that they are often re-branded advertising and marketing firms. When a person states they are in advertising and marketing lots of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a type of visual design that helps shape the image of a business, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and brochures. Some visual designers also develop web sites and also software interfaces. The important duty of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of affecting activities, end results and perceptions.

Featured logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Hauppauge coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an older section of town and really wanted to cast a retro vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by means of creating a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Hauppauge clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Hauppauge.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Hauppauge traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hauppauge logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Hauppauge logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of hurdles, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Hauppauge publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a published book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems that in many cases one of the things people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Hauppauge logo design used for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Hauppauge, design include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a Hauppauge hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that related a spirit of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design produced for a horse ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a unique creative logo concept styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With an unique head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Hauppauge Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, layout consists of a changed script typeface which hovers over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny dining establishment, style consists of a changed script font style which hovers above a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software programmer the style features as well as iconic Hauppauge aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo style created for a Hauppaugeinterior designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Hauppauge interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, explores, coordinates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that involves conceptual development, space planning, location inspections, programming, study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Hauppauge, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been customized to connect straight into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Hauppauge logo design assignment was carried out for a leadership specialist that enables business professionals to develop into more effective at managing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Hauppauge business logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Hauppauge logo design using an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Hauppauge company logo design has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really created for an Hauppauge regional farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this business logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make an identity that projected self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.

Hauppauge Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style feature for outwardly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design created for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is similar to a popular Hauppauge sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
