Hicksville Logo Design

Nearly every new Hicksville venture knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly grasp the crucial role their business logo can take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo performs better than another. A business logo has a critical and long term effect on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hicksville businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Hicksville coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older part of the city and wished to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by means of designing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Hicksville clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Hicksville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Hicksville travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hicksville logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Hicksville logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral point of views on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Hicksville book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a printed book since it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many instances one of the things consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Hicksville logo style utilized for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Hicksville, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which related a feeling of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but instead designed a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind company logo concept fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a different head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe logo style a little dining establishment, design contains a modified script typeface which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a tiny dining establishment, design includes a modified manuscript typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software program designer the style attributes and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Progress logo layout developed for a Hicksville interior developer, layout feature a series of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Hicksville interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. logo design provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word advanced have actually been customized to connect straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Hicksville logo design job was carried out for a management guide that helps business professionals to develop into more efficient at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hicksville logo design dsign along with an image which grabs the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Hicksville area farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to make a brand mark that projects confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo design designed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
