Holbrook, New York Logo Design

Each and every new Holbrook business realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the pivotal role their business logo will play in their success, or why one logo performs better than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Holbrook, New York companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to movie screens a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Holbrook, New York coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an older section of town and wanted to project a retro vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by means of developing a logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Holbrook, New York medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable center in Holbrook, New York.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Holbrook, New York travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Holbrook logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Holbrook logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of obstacles, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Holbrook, New York book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a published book since it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many cases one of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Holbrook logo style used for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Holbrook, New York, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which conveyed a spirit of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Holbrook logo dsign utilizing an illustration that pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Holbrook, New York regional farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Holbrook Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo created for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo design that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
