Long Beach Logo Design

Each and every new Long Beach business understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly comprehend the vital role their organization logo can take in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo works far better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term effect on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Long Beach companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Long Beach coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older part of the town and wanted to cast a vintage tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of developing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs made for Long Beach medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Long Beach.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Long Beach travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Long Beach logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Long Beach logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how important a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Long Beach book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is usually the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the things consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Long Beach logo style made use of for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Long Beach, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that each and every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which communicated a sense of simplicity and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software program designer the design attributes as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Long Beach logo design dsign with an image which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Long Beach regional farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this company was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design a graphic that projects self-assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo design created for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
