Maspeth Logo Design

Nearly every new Maspeth company knows they require a logo, however few new business owners fully realize the crucial role their logo design will make in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term effect on the financial success of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Maspeth businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Maspeth coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older section of the area and really wanted to cast a vintage tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks via creating a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Maspeth medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable center in Maspeth.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Maspeth travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Maspeth logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Maspeth logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design understand how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Maspeth publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Maspeth logo layout made use of for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Maspeth, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects because it seems that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which related an atmosphere of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo style for a software program developer the design features and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell off their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Maspeth logo dsign utilizing a graphic that pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually produced for an Maspeth regional farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make a graphic that projected confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo designed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
