POINTERS ON FINDING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can’t refund the time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not feature actual examples odds are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s purpose is to echo your unique vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Medford LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop unforgettable brand identities. We’ve done brand design work for builders, universities, diamond miners, wedding singers, diners, retailers, and just about every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be used as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first approach our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first technique insures that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered irrespective of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might have found on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are contracted to do, we perform in-house. Irrespective of the kind of project we take on, business logo, business website, trade show exhibit, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s projects to 3rd parties based outside the United States. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the price of your design project and determines the conditions of how we do business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Medford business knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the key role their logo design can perform in their success, or exactly why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Medford businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from label to retail signs a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of marking something to make sure that it could be recognized, its origin comes from the brand burned onto livestock. These days a brand signifies virtually anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition aimed at a target audience, it’s goal is to produce an image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When someone says the names Ferrari or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people purchase those brands. Brand image is why people get most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the origin of many branding firms you’ll find that they are quite often re-branded advertising and marketing firms. When a person says they are in marketing most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps form the public image of a business, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral products such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some visual designers also build web sites and software interfaces. The essential duty of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes and perceptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Medford coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an old part of the community and wished to project an old-fashioned feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via designing a custom logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Medford clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Medford.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Medford traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Medford logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Medford logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective point of views on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s share of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Medford publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Medford logo design utilized for advertising and a label style for Vintage Case includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Medford, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a Medford hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that projected a feeling of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious course of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo style created for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a distinct custom logo design fashioned to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With a different head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable equine types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Medford Coffee shop logo layout a little restaurant, layout contains a customized manuscript font style which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a little restaurant, design consists of a changed script font style which floats over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software designer the design attributes and legendary Medford element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Develop logo layout created for a Medfordindoor designer, style feature a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Medford interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who organizes, investigates, coordinates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, site evaluations, programming, study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Medford, the personalities for letter V and also A in middle of words progressed have actually been changed to link directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Medford logo design assignment was carried out for a leadership consultant that enables business leaders to become more efficient at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Medford business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Medford business logo design with a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Medford company logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an Medford regional farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to develop a graphic that projects esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.

Medford Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo designed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a famous Medford sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
