Morris Heights Logo Design

Virtually every new Morris Heights business knows they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the pivotal role their company logo will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one business logo performs better than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Morris Heights businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Morris Heights coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of town and wanted to visualize a retro feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs via designing a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs made for Morris Heights clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Morris Heights.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Morris Heights travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Morris Heights logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Morris Heights logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased opinions on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo recognize how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s portion of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Morris Heights book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a printed book since it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Morris Heights logo layout used for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an old font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Morris Heights, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it seems that every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that conveyed an atmosphere of ease and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the design features and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Morris Heights logo dsign with an illustration that captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really produced for an Morris Heights area farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this company was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design a brand mark that projected assurance, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo developed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
