Newburgh Logo Design

Every new Newburgh organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely recognize the essential role their logo design will perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo design works more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and long term effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Newburgh businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Newburgh coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an old section of the town and wished to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via developing a custom logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs created for Newburgh medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Newburgh.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Newburgh travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Newburgh logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Newburgh logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of difficulties, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Newburgh book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases 1 of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Newburgh logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Newburgh, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that related a sense of simplicity and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the attention on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application designer the design features and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Newburgh business logo dsign along with a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually produced for an Newburgh area farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to design a graphic that projects trust, success, and wealth.
Logo developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
