STRATEGIES FOR SELECTING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be judged by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real world examples chances are they will never be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to reflect your unique vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they will get paid.

North Babylon LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping business owners develop memorable brands. We have done brand design work for mechanics, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as though it will be employed as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to electrical signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logos are equally reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might have come across in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are retained to do, we do in-house. Irrespective of the kind of design project we undertake, logo, business website, trade show display, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s projects to organizations located outside the US. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your project and imposes the terms of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Every new North Babylon business knows they require a logo, but few start ups fully understand the crucial role their business logo can perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and long term impact on the prosperity of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help North Babylon companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need consideration, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to retail signs a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of marking something to make sure that it can be recognized, its genesis originates from the mark branded onto livestock. These days a brand indicates basically anything with an objective, regardless of whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are all from the very same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a target audience, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody says the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals identify with most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of most branding agencies you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded marketing and advertising agencies. When a person says they are in advertising most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. But when a person states “I’m in branding”… it simply seems much more attractive, maybe it’s due to the fact that the majority of people do not fully understand what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual elements of a product or business that influence view points. This mainly consists of the name, the logo, the packaging, the colors utilized yet can likewise consist of audio, lights, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, felt or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that focuses on a kind of visual design which helps shape the perception of a company, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also build web sites as well as software interfaces. The vital role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and an emotional tone with the objective of affecting activities, results as well as perceptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bike created for a North Babylon coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old part of the community and wished to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via developing a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs made for North Babylon clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in North Babylon.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for North Babylon travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  North Babylon logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

North Babylon logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo realize how essential a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s portion of hurdles, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for North Babylon publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the aspects people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

North Babylon logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Instance features an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in North Babylon, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it appears that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a North Babylon hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that carried a spirit of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of making merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo design produced for a horse ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a distinct logotype design customized to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With an identifiable head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most easily identifiable horse types in the world.

Las Cafe, A North Babylon Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, style includes a customized manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny dining establishment, design includes a changed manuscript typeface which floats above a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software program designer the style functions and legendary North Babylon aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Advance logo design produced for a North Babyloninterior developer, design feature a series of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a North Babylon interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who organizes, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in North Babylon, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of words progressed have been customized to connect straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular North Babylon logo design project was performed for a leadership specialist that enables business leaders to develop into more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A North Babylon business logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their North Babylon logo design using an illustration which grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this North Babylon company logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really developed for an North Babylon regional farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to make a brand mark that projected self-confidence, success, and prosperity.

North Babylon Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a renowned North Babylon sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
