Rome Logo Design

Each and every new Rome business realizes that they need a logo, but few new business owners fully realize the vital role their business logo will make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works better than another. A company logo has an instant and long term effect on the success of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Rome companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Rome coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an older section of the city and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two tasks via creating a logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for Rome medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable center in Rome.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Rome travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rome logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Rome logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of challenges, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Rome book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many cases one of the traits folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Rome logo design utilized for marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Case includes an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Rome, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which projected a spirit of contentment and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a steed ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software developer the style features and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Advance logo layout created for a Rome indoor developer, design feature a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Rome logo dsign along with an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Rome area farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make an identity that projected esteem, financial success, and opulence.
Logo made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
