Scarsdale Logo Design

Each and every new Scarsdale venture knows they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely realize the key role their organization logo will perform in their success, or why one business logo works far better than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the financial success of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Scarsdale businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Scarsdale coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older part of town and wanted to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by creating a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Scarsdale medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Scarsdale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Scarsdale travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Scarsdale logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Scarsdale logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased point of views on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how important a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Scarsdale publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the traits consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Scarsdale logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Scarsdale, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which communicated a feeling of ease and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is generally the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the attention on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software programmer the layout functions and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Scarsdale logo dsign utilizing a graphic that grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Scarsdale area farm it was actually designed for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to make a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design made for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
