Shirley Logo Design

Virtually every new Shirley organization knows they need a logo, however few new business owners fully are aware of the pivotal role their organization logo will take in their success, or the reason that one logo design works more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term influence on the prosperity of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Shirley businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Shirley coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an old part of the town and hoped to project a retro vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by developing a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Shirley clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Shirley.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Shirley travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Shirley logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Shirley logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s share of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Shirley publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a published book since it is often the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was certainly a success.

Shirley logo layout used for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case features an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Shirley, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which carried an atmosphere of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a business logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software programmer the style attributes and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Shirley logo design dsign utilizing a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Shirley regional farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to create a brand mark that projected esteem, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo created for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
