West Albany Logo Design

Each and every new West Albany venture knows they need a logo, however few new business owners fully recognize the pivotal role their company logo will perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo works more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help West Albany businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a West Albany coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an older part of the town and wanted to visualize a retro feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by means of creating a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for West Albany medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a family members enjoyable facility in West Albany.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for West Albany travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  West Albany logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

West Albany logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how important a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for West Albany book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most important part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences one of the items individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

West Albany logo style used for marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in West Albany, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that carried a sense of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application programmer the style functions as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their West Albany logo design dsign using a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an West Albany area farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo design developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
