POINTERS FOR IDENTIFYING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not refund the amount of time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life examples odds are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to reflect your personal vision for your company. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they can get paid.

West Islip LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish memorable brands. We’ve undertaken brand identity design work for mechanics, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as though it will be used as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been used in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logos are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered regardless of scale or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you probably have encountered on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are retained to do, we perform ourselves. Regardless of the type of design project we take on, business logo, website, trade show display, or retail sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s work to contractors based outside the United States. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the price of your project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Every new West Islip organization knows they require a logo, however few start-ups entirely comprehend the key role their logo design will make in their success, or exactly why one logo performs far better than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting impact on the prosperity of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help West Islip companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not need consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to retail signs a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of denoting something to ensure that it can be recognized, its foundation comes from the brand branded onto livestock. Nowadays a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with a motive, regardless if it be profit or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are all from the very same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to create a mental image that the target market will likely relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody says the names Ferrari or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why people identify with specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of many branding companies you’ll discover that they are frequently rebranded marketing companies. When a person states they are in advertising and marketing most people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when someone claims “I am in branding”… it just sounds more attractive, probably it’s because most individuals do not know what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and maybe even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual aspects of a product or business that affect view points. This largely includes the name, the logo design, the packaging, the colors utilized yet can also include sound, lighting, texture, signs, just about anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps shape the public image of a firm, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and also collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also develop web sites and software interfaces. The necessary duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes and also perceptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a West Islip coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an old section of the community and wanted to cast a retro vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by designing a company logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for West Islip medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in West Islip.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for West Islip traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  West Islip logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

West Islip logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo recognize how vital a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of hurdles, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for West Islip book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it looks like that in many instances one of the items consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

West Islip logo style used for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in West Islip, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it appears that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a West Islip hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that communicated a spirit of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo style developed for a steed ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind company logo design fashioned to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having a different head form and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately identifiable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A West Islip restaurant logo layout a small restaurant, style contains a customized manuscript typeface which floats above a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a little dining establishment, layout consists of a customized script font style which floats above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design attributes as well as iconic West Islip element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Develop logo layout created for a West Islipinterior designer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a West Islip interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who prepares, explores, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, location evaluations, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in West Islip, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of the word advanced have actually been customized to tie straight right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular West Islip logo design assignment was done for a management guide that aids business professionals to develop into more successful at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A West Islip business logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their West Islip business logo design with an image that seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this West Islip company logo design has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an West Islip regional farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to produce a brand mark that projects assurance, success, and prosperity.

West Islip Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a renowned West Islip sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
