Yonkers, New York Logo Design

Each and every new Yonkers business person understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly understand the pivotal role their business logo will play in their success, or exactly why one logo design functions far better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term effect on the financial success of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Yonkers, New York companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Yonkers, New York coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an older part of the city and hoped to cast a retro vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both tasks via creating a custom logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Yonkers, New York medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a household fun facility in Yonkers, New York.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Yonkers, New York traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Yonkers logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Yonkers logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design comprehend how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Yonkers, New York book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many instances 1 of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Yonkers logo layout used for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Yonkers, New York, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that conveyed a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the attention on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the layout attributes and renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Yonkers logo dsign utilizing a graphic that captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Yonkers Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
