North Carolina Logo Design

Nearly every new North Carolina business person realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners entirely comprehend the crucial role their company logo will play in their financial success, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term influence on the growth of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help North Carolina  businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.
Retro logo design of a bike produced for a North Carolina, North Carolina coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older section of the town and wanted to project an old-fashioned tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks via developing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria made for North Carolina, North Carolina medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in North Carolina, North Carolina.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for North Carolina, North Carolina travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  North Carolina logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

North Carolina logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s portion of hurdles, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for North Carolina, North Carolina publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is often the initial thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

North Carolina logo design made use of for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in North Carolina, North Carolina, design include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that carried an atmosphere of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo style for a software application designer the layout functions and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their North Carolina logo design dsign with an image that grabs the attention of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really developed for an North Carolina, North Carolina regional farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this particular company logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate an identity that projects confidence, success, and wealth.

North Carolina Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first try.

Logo made for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
