Albemarle Logo Design

Every new Albemarle company realizes that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully comprehend the key role their company logo will make in their success, or why one business logo functions far better than another. A company logo has a critical and long term impact on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Albemarle businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Albemarle coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an old part of the community and really wanted to cast a vintage atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both tasks by designing a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Albemarle medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Albemarle.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Albemarle travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Albemarle logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Albemarle logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Albemarle book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a published book since it is often the primary thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many instances 1 of the traits people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Albemarle logo style made use of for marketing and a label design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Albemarle, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which carried an atmosphere of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created an original creative logo concept fashioned to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. With an unique head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable equine breeds in the entire world.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout functions and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Progress logo layout developed for a Albemarle indoor developer, design attribute a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Albemarle logo design dsign with a graphic that captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Albemarle area farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this company was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a image that projected self-assurance, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design designed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
