Clayton Logo Design

Nearly every new Clayton company understands that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the key role their logo design will take in their success, or exactly why one logo performs far better than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Clayton businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Clayton coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old part of the city and wished to cast a retro atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by designing a custom logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Clayton medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family members fun center in Clayton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Clayton travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Clayton logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Clayton logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Clayton publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the aspects individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Clayton logo design utilized for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Clayton, style include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that communicated an atmosphere of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo design for a software designer the layout functions as well as legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Advance logo design produced for a Clayton interior developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Clayton logo design dsign along with a graphic that seizes the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Clayton regional farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to develop a graphic that projects self-confidence, success, and luxury.
Logo design developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
