High Point Logo Design

Virtually every new High Point organization understands that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the essential role their business logo can play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and long term effect on the growth of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help High Point companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a High Point coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old section of the area and hoped to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by means of developing a company logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for High Point medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in High Point.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for High Point travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  High Point logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

High Point logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased assessments on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s share of challenges, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for High Point publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a printed book considering that it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

High Point logo style made use of for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in High Point, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo which projected an atmosphere of ease and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software programmer the style features and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Advance logo style developed for a High Point interior designer, design function a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their High Point business logo dsign using an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an High Point area farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this particular logo design was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to develop a graphic that projects esteem, success, and luxury.
Logo design made for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
