TIPS ON PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they can’t refund the amount of time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but inevitably a design agency can only be evaluated by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real world examples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Lumberton LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate memorable brands. We’ve undertaken logo design work for builders, universities, diamond miners, party planners, coffee shops, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes us unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be used as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might possibly have come across in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are brought on board to do, we do in-house. No matter the type of design project we take on, brand identity design, website, trade show exhibit, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s work to agencies based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the price of your design project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Lumberton business understands that they probably need a logo, yet few start ups entirely grasp the vital role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Lumberton businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to retail signs a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of denoting something so that it could be recognized, its origin originates from the brand burned onto animals. Today a brand represents basically anything with an objective, regardless if it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are each from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to develop a mental image that the audience can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone says the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals buy those brands. Brand image is why individuals acquire specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the history of a lot of branding firms you’ll discover that they are frequently re-branded advertising and marketing companies. When a person says they are in advertising most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps form the public image of a company, a product or a company. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some identity designers also build websites and user interfaces. The essential duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes as well as perceptions.

select logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Lumberton coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an old part of the community and wanted to cast a vintage feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by means of developing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Lumberton medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable center in Lumberton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Lumberton travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lumberton logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Lumberton logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Lumberton book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Lumberton logo style made use of for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Lumberton, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a Lumberton hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which carried a feeling of peace and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind logo design tailored to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having an identifiable head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Lumberton restaurant logo layout a tiny dining establishment, style contains a modified manuscript typeface which floats over a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout consists of a customized manuscript font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design attributes and also iconic Lumberton element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Develop logo style produced for a Lumbertonindoor developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Lumberton interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, investigates, coordinates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location examinations, programming, study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Lumberton, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of words progressed have been changed to tie straight right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Lumberton logo design project was carried out for a leadership consultant that enables business leaders to develop into more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Lumberton business logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Lumberton logo design along with an image which captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Lumberton company logo style has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Lumberton area farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to make a graphic that projects trust, financial success, and prosperity.

Lumberton Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly facing arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design created for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a famous Lumberton sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
