Shelby Logo Design

Nearly every new Shelby company realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly understand the crucial role their logo can perform in their success, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long term impact on the financial success of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Shelby companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Shelby coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older section of the area and wanted to project a retro feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs via designing a custom logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria created for Shelby clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Shelby.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Shelby travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Shelby logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Shelby logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design comprehend how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Shelby book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most important part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Shelby logo style used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Shelby, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which projected a feeling of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software program developer the design functions as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Shelby logo design dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Shelby area farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to develop an identity that projects trust, success, and luxury.
Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
