North Dakota Logo Design

Every new North Dakota  organization understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely understand the crucial role their business logo will make in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions far better than another. A company logo has an instant and long term impact on the success of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help North Dakota businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a North Dakota coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an older section of the community and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by creating a logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria developed for North Dakota clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog made for a family members fun facility in North Dakota.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for North Dakota travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  North Dakota  logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

North Dakota logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design understand how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for North Dakota book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a published book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many instances one of the aspects individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

North Dakota logo style used for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance features an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in North Dakota, style include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually really love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which communicated a spirit of serenity and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original business logo concept customized to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having an unique head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable equine lineages in the entire world.

Las Cafe logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout includes a modified manuscript font style which floats above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a little dining establishment, style includes a customized script typeface which hovers above a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design features and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Evolve logo design developed for a North Dakota interior developer, style function a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V and A in center of the word advanced have been modified to tie directly into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular North Dakota logo design project was performed for a management specialist that enables business professionals to become more successful at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their North Dakota business logo design with an illustration which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really composed for an North Dakota  farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to develop a graphic that projected assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.

North Dakota Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
