North Dakota Logo Design

Each and every new North Dakota organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully realize the vital role their business logo can make in their success, or precisely why one logo works more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and lasting influence on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help North Dakota  businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a North Dakota, North Dakota coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an old section of the area and hoped to visualize a retro vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via creating a sign design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for North Dakota, North Dakota clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in North Dakota, North Dakota.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for North Dakota, North Dakota traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  North Dakota logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

North Dakota logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of challenges, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for North Dakota, North Dakota book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many occurrences one of the items individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

North Dakota logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance features an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in North Dakota, North Dakota, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it seems that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which conveyed a sense of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo style created for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application programmer the style features as well as renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their North Dakota logo design dsign with an image which seizes the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really composed for an North Dakota, North Dakota regional farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to develop a graphic that projected confidence, success, and opulence.

North Dakota Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
