Jamestown Logo Design

Nearly every new Jamestown company knows they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their company logo will take in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design functions better than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term effect on the success of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Jamestown businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Jamestown coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an old part of town and hoped to project a retro vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks via designing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Jamestown clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in Jamestown.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Jamestown traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Jamestown logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Jamestown logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of challenges, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Jamestown book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a published book since it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Jamestown logo design utilized for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Jamestown, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that conveyed a spirit of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Jamestown logo design dsign utilizing an image which seizes the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually designed for an Jamestown regional farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to design a graphic that projects confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo created for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
