Mandan Logo Design

Every new Mandan business knows they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely realize the pivotal role their business logo can take in their becoming successful, or why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and long term impact on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Mandan companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Mandan coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older part of town and wanted to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks by designing a custom logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Mandan clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Mandan.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Mandan travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mandan logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Mandan logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective judgements on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Mandan publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Mandan logo style used for marketing and also a label design for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Mandan, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects because it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that projected a feeling of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Mandan logo design dsign using an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually produced for an Mandan area farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to create a brand mark that projected self-confidence, success, and prosperity.
Logo made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
