Ohio Logo Design

Virtually every new Ohio business understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the crucial role their logo will perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term impact on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Ohio businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Ohio coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old part of the area and wanted to cast a vintage tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by means of creating a sign design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs made for Ohio medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design Project

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable facility in Ohio.

Cool Springs | Retail Branding Project

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Ohio travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ohio logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Ohio logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design Project

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo realize how essential a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Ohio publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design Project

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a published book because it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books. This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design Project

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many occurrences one of the things consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was surely a success.

Ohio logo design utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance features an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design Project

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Ohio, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design Project

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo projects because it seems that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession. I actually enjoy doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on. Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.
William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design Project

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate. The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.
Logo layout created for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that communicated a spirit of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Las Cafe | Logo Design Project

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, layout includes a customized script font style which floats above a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the design attributes as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design Project

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Advance logo design produced for a Ohio interior designer, style attribute a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Ohio business logo design with a graphic that captures the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really designed for an Ohio area farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make an identity that projects esteem, success, and prosperity.

Ohio Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design made for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
