Aurora Logo Design

Nearly every new Aurora venture knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely realize the vital role their business logo can take in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design performs better than another. A logo has a critical and long-term effect on the growth of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Aurora companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Aurora coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an older part of town and wished to cast a nostalgic tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs via creating a sign design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Aurora medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Aurora.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Aurora travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Aurora logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Aurora logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how important a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Aurora publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a printed book because it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Aurora logo style used for marketing and also a label design for Vintage Situation features an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Aurora, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that carried an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the importance on the emotion that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the style attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Advance logo style created for a Aurora interior designer, style function a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Aurora logo dsign along with an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really produced for an Aurora area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a graphic that projected self-assurance, success, and luxury.
Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
