Avon, Ohio Logo Design

Every new Avon organization understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners entirely comprehend the crucial role their logo design will take in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining impact on the financial success of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Avon, Ohio businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Avon, Ohio coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the city and hoped to project a vintage tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks via designing a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Avon, Ohio clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable facility in Avon, Ohio.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Avon, Ohio traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Avon logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Avon logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo realize how important a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Avon, Ohio publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many instances one of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Avon logo design utilized for marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Avon, Ohio, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which projected an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design created for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo design a little dining establishment, design contains a changed script typeface which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny dining establishment, style contains a changed manuscript font style which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout features and iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Avon logo dsign using an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really created for an Avon, Ohio area farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this particular logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to generate an identity that projected assurance, success, and wealth.

Avon Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally dealing with arrow and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
