STRATEGIES ON CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can’t reimburse the time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature actual samples odds are they won’t be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and remembered, and it’s goal is to mirror your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Chillicothe LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners grow unforgettable brand identities. We’ve done logo design work for builders, colleges, heart surgeons, party planners, restaurants, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can think of. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as if it will be employed as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first method our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique insures that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of size or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you might have found on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are retained to do, we perform ourselves. Regardless of the type of project we accept, brand identity design, web page, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s projects to companies based outside the United States. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how you and I do business.

QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Chillicothe business realizes that they probably need a logo, however few start-ups entirely understand the key role their company logo will perform in their financial success, or the reason that one logo performs far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the viability of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Chillicothe businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of denoting something to ensure that it could be recognized, its genesis comes from the brand branded onto livestock. Nowadays a brand represents basically anything with an objective, regardless if it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the worth of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are each from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition aimed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody states the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why individuals purchase most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the beginning of a lot of branding companies you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded advertising companies. When someone states they are in advertising and marketing many people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps form the image of a company, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and sales brochures. Some identity designers also develop sites as well as user interfaces. The necessary function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes and also understandings.

select signs/logos

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Chillicothe coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of the town and really wanted to visualize an old-fashioned feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by developing a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Chillicothe clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a household fun facility in Chillicothe.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Chillicothe traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Chillicothe logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Chillicothe logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Chillicothe publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems like that in many occurrences one of the aspects individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Chillicothe logo design utilized for marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Chillicothe, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a Chillicothe hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which communicated a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo design developed for an equine ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted an original logo concept customized to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With an unique head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately identifiable equine lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Chillicothe Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, design contains a changed script font style which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a small dining establishment, style includes a changed manuscript typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software developer the design functions and also renowned Chillicothe element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Develop logo layout produced for a Chillicotheindoor designer, style feature a collection of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Chillicothe interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who arranges, explores, collaborates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, research, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Chillicothe, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have been changed to tie straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Chillicothe logo design project was completed for a management advisor that helps business professionals to become more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Chillicothe business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Chillicothe logo design design with an image that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Chillicothe company logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually designed for an Chillicothe area farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to make a graphic that projected trust, effectiveness, and affluence.

Chillicothe Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrow and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a well-known Chillicothe sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the owner to create a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
