Cleveland, Ohio Logo Design

Each and every new Cleveland organization realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely realize the essential role their logo will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo performs far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long term effect on the prosperity of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Cleveland, Ohio businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Cleveland, Ohio coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an old part of the city and hoped to project a vintage atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by developing a sign design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria created for Cleveland, Ohio clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun facility in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Cleveland, Ohio travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cleveland logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Cleveland logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo understand how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s share of obstacles, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Cleveland, Ohio book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Cleveland logo style used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Cleveland, Ohio, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually really love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that projected a spirit of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious course of making merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design created for an equine ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original brand design styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. With a different head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable horse types in the world.

Las Cafe logo design a tiny restaurant, design consists of a customized script typeface which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, design contains a changed script typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style features and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Cleveland logo dsign using an image which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Cleveland, Ohio area farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce an identity that projects esteem, success, and wealth.

Cleveland Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
