Elyria Logo Design

Virtually every new Elyria venture realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their logo will play in their success, or the reason that one logo design works better than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining effect on the financial success of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Elyria businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Elyria coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an older section of the area and wanted to project an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs via developing a symbol design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Elyria clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable center in Elyria.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Elyria travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Elyria logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Elyria logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of challenges, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Elyria book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many occurrences one of the traits individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Elyria logo design used for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Case features an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Elyria, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it appears that each and every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that communicated a feeling of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the importance on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style functions and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Elyria logo design dsign with an image that captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually designed for an Elyria regional farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a image that projects esteem, success, and luxury.
Logo design designed for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
