Hilliard, Ohio Logo Design

Nearly every new Hilliard business understands that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs are thoroughly aware of the essential role their company logo will take in their financial success, or why one business logo performs better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term effect on the growth of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hilliard, Ohio businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Hilliard, Ohio coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually launching in an older part of the town and wanted to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via creating a symbol design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Hilliard, Ohio medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Hilliard, Ohio.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Hilliard, Ohio travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hilliard logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hilliard logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Hilliard, Ohio publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a published book since it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems like that in many instances 1 of the traits individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Hilliard logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Hilliard, Ohio, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it appears that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually really love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that conveyed an atmosphere of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the attention on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo design for a software application developer the design features and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Hilliard business logo dsign using a graphic that captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Hilliard, Ohio area farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop a graphic that projected self-confidence, success, and prosperity.

Hilliard Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for externally encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is similar to a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
