Hough Logo Design

Every new Hough company understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners fully are aware of the crucial role their logo can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining effect on the success of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hough companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Hough coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old part of the town and hoped to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via developing a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for Hough clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Hough.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Hough travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hough logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Hough logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of difficulties, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Hough publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the traits consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Hough logo design utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Case includes an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Hough, style include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that almost every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that related a feeling of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo design created for an equine ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a tiny restaurant, design includes a customized manuscript font which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny restaurant, design includes a changed script font style which floats above a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the layout attributes as well as renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Progress logo style created for a Hough indoor developer, layout feature a collection of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Hough interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who prepares, explores, collaborates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, space planning, location evaluations, programming, research, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and execution of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of the word progressed have been modified to link directly into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Hough logo design project was completed for a management advisor that enables business leaders to become more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to market their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Hough logo dsign along with a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really developed for an Hough area farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to create a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and wealth.
Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
