Mason Logo Design

Virtually every new Mason company realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly are aware of the key role their company logo will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design works far better than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Mason companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Mason coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older part of the area and really wanted to project a retro feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by developing a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Mason clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a household fun facility in Mason.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Mason travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mason logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Mason logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo comprehend how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Mason book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems that in many instances one of the traits individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Mason logo design made use of for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Mason, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which conveyed a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo style for a software application designer the layout attributes and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Mason logo dsign with an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding
