Pickerington Logo Design

Nearly every new Pickerington company knows they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely comprehend the pivotal role their business logo can make in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting impact on the success of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Pickerington businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Pickerington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of the city and wished to cast a nostalgic tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two tasks via designing a logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria made for Pickerington medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Pickerington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Pickerington traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Pickerington logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Pickerington logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how important a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s portion of difficulties, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Pickerington publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the things consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Pickerington logo style made use of for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Pickerington, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that conveyed a spirit of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo design for a software programmer the design attributes and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Pickerington logo design dsign using an image which seizes the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t actually developed for an Pickerington area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this company logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo made for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
