Sidney Logo Design

Every new Sidney company realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely realize the crucial role their organization logo can take in their financial success, or why one logo functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term impact on the success of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Sidney companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Sidney coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older section of town and wished to visualize a nostalgic vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by means of creating a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Sidney medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a household fun center in Sidney.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Sidney traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sidney logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Sidney logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of hurdles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Sidney book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Sidney logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Sidney, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that communicated a sense of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software designer the design attributes and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell off their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Sidney logo dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually composed for an Sidney area farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this company logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to develop a graphic that projects self-assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
